A honeycomb calcite has many white, crisscrossing lines. These lines, which are mineral deposits, stop the passage of light. But, where the lines recede, the golden light is like honey syrup or a sunset. The name 'Flaming' reflects the upward movement of flame-like shapes, striving for light.
